Taking the brownies out of the oven, you put them on the counter. You grabbed a knife and carefully cut them into pieces. You walked to the dish cupboard and took a plate out to put the brownies on. Once they were on the food table, everything was in place. The party won't start for another half hour or more, so you decide to make some tea and save the fruit punch and pop for the guests.
A few minutes after you made your tea the door decided to finally ring. You set the tea down and walked over to the door, your dress swaying and your face bright. Opening the door you saw Alfred, Matthew, Francis, and your longtime crush, Arthur Kirkland. They all held neatly wrapped and very colourful gifts in their hands, ready for their Secret Santa person to open.
"Hello! You guys sure are early, not that it's a bad thing. Please, come in." You waved your hand to the inside of the house. They eagerly stepped in, releasing Jack Frost's grip on them. You told and showed them where the food and drinks were and where they could leave the gifts. Alfred grabbed the gifts from their hands and, being the kind and wonderful brother he is, dragged Matthew to the Christmas tree, his thunderous laughter echoing against the walls. Francis gave a smile and walked to different rooms, taking in all your hard work and dedication towards the holiday. Arthur walked up to you, shook your hand, and gave you a heart warming smile.
"Sorry we're awfully early, luv. We just wanted to get here ahead of time, just in case a storm were to hit." Arthur took off his coat and hung it on the coat rack as he said this. He turned around and faced you, letting out a nervous chuckle. You smiled in return, making him give a sunlit smile. You picked up your glass of tea and offered to make Arthur some tea.
"Ah, thank you, (f/n). That's rather kind of you." You walked to the kitchen with Arthur following behind. You set the kettle up with water and tea leaves and waited once more, talking with Arthur to help pass time.
~*~*~*~*~*~*Time Skip for an Hour*~*~*~*~*~*~
Nearly an hour has passed and everyone you invited had came. The living room was loud with laughter, chatter, sips and gulps, and clatters of plates. Cheers were made to the holiday and cheers were made to friends and family. Cheers were made to God and Jesus and cheers were made to health and love. Everyone was joyful on this day.
You talked to many people during that time, though you mostly stayed near and talked with Arthur. The two of you reminisced of the passed year, talking about stupid things Alfred said and did, new things Kiku made, the petty squabbles Arthur and Francis had, and other things that happened.
A shadow appeared over the two of you, though unbeknownst, while you were talking. The owner of the shadow grinned and and began to laugh, catching the attention of the two.
"Ohonhonhon~ Arthur, it looks like you finally got a girlfriend, no?" Francis gave a small, sly smirk. Both of you turned and face Francis.
"Francis, you putrid frog, incase you failed to noticed, (f/n) and I are trying to have a conversation. I know this must be difficult for you to comprehend so I'll say this slowly, bugger. Off!" You could tell Arthur was infuriated just by Francis's presence, fumes were practically coming out of his ears and nose. Arthur stood up in a flash, hands clenched and shoulders shaking.
"Oh! But zhat's no fun! Be nice, now. I only asked if she was your girlfriend." Francis waved his hand towards you as he spoke, causing Arthur to huff in frustration.
"We-well she's not my girlfriend! Now leave us alone!" Huffing once more and stomping his foot, he sat down with his arms crossed, not even daring to glance at you or anybody else.
"Hmmm... Well, since she's not your girlfriend, I guess I'll just take her as mine, okay?" Francis jumped over the couch and squeezed in between you and Arthur, putting an arm around each of you. Arthur retracted his body as quick as he could.
"What do you- E-excuse me?! What are you doing? No, you can't take her as yours!" Arthur's face began to redden, his hands clenched and shoulders shaking once more but with more fury than ever. His jaw was clamped up and his teeth ground together in hatred.
"Is little Arthur jealous? Ohonhonhon~ 'ow precious!"
"I-I am not jealous! I just- She- You're- Bloody Hell!" With that Arthur stormed off into another room. Both of you were dumbfounded, unable to speak in protest. Instead, you ran towards the room Arthur went into, leaving Francis alone on the couch.
Finally catching up to him you called out his name.
"Arthur! Arthur! What's with you?" He turned to face you. You could see that anger was still on his face but hurt also accompanied it in his eyes.
"That bloody git, that's what's with me! I tell him one thing and he does another. He thinks he can easily take you away from me! He thinks he's so amazing, so-" You interrupted him before he could finish his sentence.
"Wait, wait, wait. Take me away from you? What-what do you mean by that?" Arthur's face turned serious while a large blush grew almost instantly. He began to stutter out a response but failed. Sighing, he gathered his words the best he could.
"(F/N), luv, I..." He sighed once more. "I've been meaning to tell you this for the longest time, (f/n). I love you. Time after time, I tried to get my courage up to tell you but I always get interrupted or lost my courage. It's-it's okay if you don't feel the same way, I'm just glad I finally got that off my chest."
He looked into your (e/c) eyes and you looked into his emerald ones. A huge grin crept on your face, making Arthur feel intensely relieved. You crashed into him with a hug instantly. Pulling away from the hug you began to speak, still wearing that smile.
"You don't know how happy that makes me. I've been wanting to say the same for so long. I love you too, Arthur." You pulled him into a hug once more as a laugh emitted from behind.
"Ohonhonhon~ 'ow sweet!" Both heads turned in Francis's direction. You noticed that his arm extended above your heads. Looking up, you saw him holding a mistletoe. Arthur and you stared at the mistletoe before finally looking at each other. Arthur chuckled before speaking.
"Heh, well, we should always follow tradition." You nodded as Arthur kissed you lightly on the lips.

You shivered, waiting out in the cold for the person on the other side to answer.
"Arthur! Let me in~" you whined. You heard a groan and footsteps approaching the door.
"Hello, _______________. What brings you here?" He asked, sounding slightly annoyed.
"It's Christmas eve, silly! I promised to spend it with you remember?"
He blushed. Was that really today?! "And I thought I told you don't bother." He said, not trying to be rude but doing so anyway. "I told you I don't do much for this holiday…"
You looked around his house. Boy, he wasn't kidding! You saw no sign of any kind of Christmas decorations. It was as if the holiday was non-ex
